Magical Space Car experience

The process for ordering one is… unusual? No having to go to a dealer, you can quickly choose how you want it (although options are somewhat limited, of course).

Afterwards you just click order, pay the reservation fee, and you wait until you get issued a VIN and receive the final invoice. Paid the final invoice and then you’re supposed to hear what your delivery date is. Except I didn’t hear anything afterwards… Errrm…? After long waiting times on the phone, the actual service experience was actually amazing(!). Turns out they mistakenly doubly-issued the same VIN to someone else in Norway. I’m sure (s)he is enjoying their M3.

That didn’t help me though. Again, the service experience was amazing. Farhaad deserves a named mention: he called back as promised, and upgraded me for free to a M3P- model, for a lower price than my original order too. Farhaad then arranged for me to pick it up in less than a week, so I would have in time for BalCCon / BSides 🙂

I don’t think there’s any car manufacturer in the world capable of delivering a brand new car in one month, let alone be this flexible and understanding in their service.

I can understand some people have issues with build quality, service, etc., but mine looks fine and my service experience was great, so I’m definitely in the 99%-group-of-people for which everything is fine (for now :-P).

Oh, and how is it? It’s exactly as described here: https://theoatmeal.com/comics/tesla_model_s
